Hi friends! Yesterday was my 4 week post-op. Things are going well. I have been able to tolerate soft foods and am beginning to add "regular" goods a little at a time. The only issue I have is the one that most of you have talked about.......constipation. It is a struggle to get in the 80 grams of Protein and 64 ounces of Fluid, but I will continue to strive to make it!

I'll be four weeks on Thursday and I'm struggling with the same issues. On a good note, I'm down 32 pounds - 16 pounds pre-op.

Good luck.

@@FrankinTexas have you tired these Protein shakes I posted below? They are tasty and packed full of 30 grams of Protein per container. I normally only have one a day to help me hit my protein goal. Also I just made my some homemade chili yesterday and that too is packed with protein. I saw my doctor today and he is very happy with what I'm doing this far ???? for things to drink I am drinking a lot of Water, crystal light and a little apple juice with no sugar added. Frank I hope this helps a little bit.

@@FrankinTexas, I know what you mean about the constipation! I'm almost 3 weeks post surgery and I put benefiber in my 2-3 Protein Shakes. I also went and grabbed the costco version of Miralax as well. Great to hear things are going well for you!!

Thanks for the advice, guys. I find that my tastes are changing and am not able to tolerate Protein Drinks like I once was. I have been using Unjury, but have also tried Premier Protein.< /p>

Here is the bad news, I am 11 months post op and still struggle with Constipation. I have to take stool softener with laxative twice a day.

I will say, that has been the worst part for me but I have it under control now.

Remember that your body only absorbs about 20 grams of protein at a time so you will need to drink some of it later by waiting at least an hour after finishing the first part of the container. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
