Help for my daughter!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved in December. Haven't been heavy my whole life and started at a pretty low BMI. My daughter on the other hand, is pretty heavy. She's 19 year old college student and just got approved for surgery! She's 5 hours away, so we're scheduling surgery for Christmas break when she'll be home six weeks. Is that enough time for her to recover or should we wait until next summer?

She has a dorm that has a full kitchen and private bath so I'm hoping I can help her get set with all she needs there too. How soon after RNY did you start feeling better? Are we moving too fast?

I think 6 weeks is fine for recovery time for rny. I took three off of work. Still had some soreness, but just took my time with everything I did. She can always plan for extra time to walk to class etc to ensure she's comfortable.

how will she manage follow up appointments? I was seen at 1 week, 1 month, then 3 months....

Luckily our clinic has a location in the same town as her school. If not, it wouldn't possible so were lucky in that regard. I really appreciate the advise.

I am pre-op and also a college student. I am hoping to return to school within a couple of days of having my surgery. I am taking more than a full course load this semester and I really don't want to miss anything. I've had a couple surgeries around my stomach area and did really well with recovery so I am hoping my gastric bypass isn't any different. Wishing your daughter the best of luck on her journey!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
