My blood pressure went from 156/92 at 235 pounds to (last I checked) 116/78.

My fasting blood sugar went from 130 to 85.

Obviously, off both meds ;)

Blood pressure normal, I was borderline diabetic, I had sleep apnea, swollen legs ankles feet, headaches, insomnia, chronic fatigue, chest pains, I'm 7 months out but all this has been gone for like 6 months

I'm off of BP meds, Cholesterol meds, Gluscosomine, Fiber, and all the other crap I was taking daily just to "get by". I also realized that I must have had a food allergy of some type, I used to sneeze all day long. Haven't sneezed once since starting my pre-op diet

That's awesome! I just got put on cholesterol meds. I am in the research phase. Just thinking about long term health. Losing weight is the exciting part but health is what ultimately matters.

I was on blood pressure & cholesterol meds. I stopped taking blood pressure medicine the day of my surgery. I was off my cholesterol medicine a month later.

I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic ( which is what solidified my reason to have the surgery) . Now my numbers are within the normal range and I plan to do my part to keep it that way.

Lastly, I had plantar fasciitis and the pain has gone. Hopefully to never return.

I'm hoping I get off the c-pap machine next, I have that appointment next month.

I just had my three-month labs done, so this is fresh in my mind! I was pre-diabetic. My fasting blood sugar pre surgery was 121, now it's 80. My A1C was 5.9 pre surgery, now it's 5.1. Both very normal! My cholesterol was always good, now it's even better. I had plantar fasciitis and swollen ankles, and both are gone. My BP wasn't high constantly, but if I was stressed, it would skyrocket up to 170/110. Now it stays even around 120/80. I also used to get slight chest pains. Not anymore. I also discovered I had moderate sleep apnea during my pre op testing and now my husband says I never snore, even when I'm on my back! After four months and 85 lbs gone, this surgery has already been a lifesaver!

BP normal & no more meds, cholesterol dropped but still in lose dose for now, apnea improved & no machine, fasting glucose (on meds) from 145 to 99/110 with no meds. Best is that pain from a spinal injury has significantly lessened to the point that I am no longer on daily pain meds & the neuropathy in my leg has almost disappeared!

BP meds is the only thing I was taking pre-op that I am still on. I am taking half a pill now and hope to be off them in the next month or so. I will see doctor for 2nd f/u visit on 9/8 and that is when I will here how my BW looks. I feel like I weigh ALOT less than I actually do - so if that accounts for anything for your research...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
