Trying to get to the onerland:

Recommended Posts

I am 40 years old and started out at 260, day of surgery 240, current 213.4. I was sleeved on June 15. I was sent home from hospital on purée and can now eat anything that I want. I have had some problems with certain foods and have gotten sick a few times and I have learned my lesson. I go to the gym, or walking track at least three times a week and can go 3 miles on treadmill in about 45 mins. I also use the stationary bike and some leg weights. I have not been released to pick up anything over 25 lbs. I go to dr next Wednesday and am excited to get released to start strength training. I am hoping with that I drop a few more pounds. I am kinda stuck at where I am and am getting anxiety that I am not going to be where the dr thinks I should be. I have gotten rid of all my size 24,22,20 & 18 jeans and I have a few size 16's that I am excited to wear but need to get this weight off so I can. I think that my mind is more into this than my body. I have only been taking one day off of excising a week and I feel as though there is something else I could be doing to make this happen faster. I really have only been eating meat and only about 2 oz per meal, because I feel full. I don't really snack a lot and drink plenty of Water. Any advise?

The only advice is patience. It will come but if you are already doing all that you stated that is it. Some weeks you will lose more and some less but look at the overall loss. You seem to be doing great. Hang in there!

You are losing at a great rate. You didn't gain all your excess weight in a matter of a couple of months and it won't come off that quick either. Don't try to rush it! This is the time for you to learn good eating and exercise to last you for years to come. You will hit onederland in no time! I can remember feeling the biggest accomplishment when I did. Now I look at it and am in awe that I am 50 pounds lighter than that! You will do it! Best of luck to you!

You're doing great! I'm also 40! I started my program at 294 bit dropped to 264 by surgery. I was sleeved on June 3rd, making it just over 2 months ago. I'm now at 228.

Don't fret about you'll weight loss. I stalled for 2 1/2 weeks and was almost in tears. I kept think that I had failed ... again, but my friends on this sight helped me realize that it's just part of the process. Plus the Dr. confirms that it happens and happens often. She also said to stop weighing myself so much (I weigh myself everyday), and to switch to weighing in only once per month. I'm still working on that.

It'll come off, that is a fact! Just keep working out and following your plan. :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
