Hair loss noticeable/problematic?

Recommended Posts

I am 11 days post op.

People have talked about hair loss at some point, but maybe it is mostly women posting that?

I was curious if men have had the same problem and if it is noticeable or problematic. I always wear my hair short anyway.

Experience/advice?

Hey Jim, I am 5 months post op down 80 pounds. I have not noticed any appreciable hair loss. I, lke you, wear my hair short, buzz cut in the summer and haven't noticed any 'new' hair loss...

I noticed mine was thinning when I started pumping up the exercise in January and by February I was noticing a bunch in my comb and around my computer. At that time I was looking to get 80-90g of Protein a day. I started looking for ways to get more Protein, and now I'm getting over 120g a day minimum. hair came back, no more problem.

I am 3 mos post by pass and 80+ # down, my hair during this time went from fairly bushy to more fine, thinner hair. I am going to have it cut quite short, have worn it long for 45 years, but it is clearly different. I get 80-90 g of Protein but may up that a bit. I just feel that hair changes are a hassle, but the health pluses are so worth it, so much important than hair....

right around the 3rd or 4th month I noticed it starting to fall out. that lasted for about a month and then it started to grow back. note really noticeable. no one ever said anything to me about it, but I knew it was falling out when I was bent over the sink scratching my head in the bathroom.

Protein intake is key here, as others have mentioned.

I always said to myself, at least I still have my hair over the years... Two months after the sleeve my hair thinned out to where I noticed it and was bummed out over it, glad to say it all came back again :)

Good info.

I was thinking I'd wind up like Mr Clean for a while.

I'm going to do my best to keep my Protein intake up and hope for the best.

I think my hair on head loss is minimal..but closer I get to 40 I think it's thinning anyway. I have trouble with beard hair coming out...but probably do need to keep better track of my Protein in-take. Had some tell me to forget it and go bald! I'll keep that in mind...but not sure that's a goal for me right now!!! Need to keep my youth!!

10 months out... I lost about 30% of my hair in months 4 through 8, so just took my normally fairly hippie length hair to a buzz cut for the first time in 55 years. Then, in months 9 through now, it is growing back, but have decided at 65 years old to wear it shorter.

I'm 7 weeks post op and have noticed over the last few days it starting to fall out here and there. Thankfully I have a pretty thick head of hair. Worst case I'll buzz it for a while until it's ready to come back full

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
