low blood sugar/anxiety

Recommended Posts

I am sure you guys have heard this all before, but the date is getting so close now, the 3rd, in some ways it still seems unreal and in others I cannot believe I am doing this and its so soon. Yesterday I felt lousy, knew my blood sugar was low, not a diabetic, so I stopped at a starbucks and got the Protein box, Has good stuff in it, hard boiled egg, fruit, cheese and Peanut Butter, and I hate about 2/3 of it, and felt so much better, but feel like I cheated. Anyone else get any reactions like this from the 2 week pre-op diet. These shakes just are not working for me. I do eat Protein and veggies for dinner. This weekend is Clear liquids only and I am terrified of low blood sugars again, and lets face it, I am hungry. If I could do all this 2 week pre-op stuff I would not need the surgery. I must say I have not eaten carbs or any junk, but have eaten some extra protein. How's everyone else doing, anyone else the week of the 3rd also.

Please write anything, at this point I just need to hear from some people like me, getting closer. Thanks

I cheated with unsweetened organic applesauce. I started my diet on 7/27 and have stuck to it 95%. I have lost 7 lbs. At work I am busy goes by fast. I don't feel so weak anymore. I am diabetic and have stopped taking my medicine. I do check my blood sugar twice a day. The clear liqiuds will be tough but you can do it just prepare have a variety of them available. Stay busy. Do fun things go window shopping see what clothes you might be getting very soon after surgery.

I did the same thing pre-op. If i felt terrible I'd eat a boiled egg or some lunch meat. It's not like you ate a pizza and a birthday cake. I think you'll be ok, just do the best you can.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
