I was just curious to see how much everyone lost there first week after surgery, I know everyone loses at a different rate but I thought it would be interesting to see.

Hi Lynnanne

How come you've only lost this many pounds in 3 months? Is that normal? Are you ok?

I lost 20lbs.

15 lbs.

Hi Lynnanne

No, it isn't normal for me. My highest weight was 262, I was 245 on Jan 25 of this year . I was 200 pounds the day I came home from surgery. I lost those 62 pounds on my own with a healthy diet and exercise. I had the sleeve because I wanted to continue to lose and not gain it back and because of my many health problems. Instead my metabolism seems to be completely changed. My surgeon and nutritionist have nothing to offer. I am in the regret phase.

I gained 13 pounds (!) from the fluids in the hospital and it took me 9 days to lose it. All's well now though :)

What is your diet like? How many grams of protien are you getting a day? And how many calories? Are you tracking? I'm sure we would all love to help you out if we can by giving you some advice if you would like?

While in the hospital I actually gained 3 pounds. So including that I lost 14 total, but 11 from pre-surgery weight.

Week one I lost 7 pounds. Week two I lost 0.4 pounds. After that I averaged about 1.5-2 pounds per week for the first couple of months. Now, 11 months post-op, I'm happy to lose a half a pound a week!

Came home weighing 10 pounds more but by 1 week followup had lost that plus 5.

80 -90 grams of protein from lean meat and protein shakes. 8cups of water per day. No more than 800 to 900 calories a day. Low sodium, low carb for rest of diet that is not protein. Workout 1 hour per day in pool 6 days per week.Track every calorie and nutrient on my Ipad app.

20 pounds is awesome, how much did you lose the second week?

Lol just weighed myself and I lost only 4.9 lbs. this week... Next week will be better
