I had surgery 7/14/15

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have posted before but cannot find any of my posts from before my surgery. I had other surgery performed at the same time and the fix was gastric bypass. I had strictures, an esophageal problem and a hernia. I needed help to lose weight but I was not considered acceptable for weight loss surgery based on weight.(205weight,5'6)

My issue--first week, great..no nausea or vomiting and could handle every thing...I have tried to progress to an egg, Soup, beans--all pureed but I can't hold anything down this week. Frustrated as I'm hungry!! Any suggestions.2 ounces is my portion size right now and I measure it so It's not from too much. Thanks y'all!!

Also I would like too join the Facebook group above(might be in it) but I have been sick with everything else I have not spent much time online.

Nice to meet everyone..I'm in Pensacola, FL. :)

Welcome! Congrats on your recent surgery! Sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems. I can't offer my personal experience to compare as I'm still pre op, but I do hope things improve quickly and you're feeling better soon! Good luck!

Make sure you keep things very low or no fat. That's the only thing that has bothered me. Did you try unsweetened applesauce?

How about egg beaters instead of eggs? The Dietitian told me some can't handle the fat in the yolks.

Mashed potatoes?

sugar free Popsicles?

I'm 22 days post op. Hope that helps!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
