Post surgery heparin 8/3/15 sleever

Recommended Posts

Finally I figured out how to post my own messages. They say I am computer handicapped lol. Having my surgery 8/3. Had my pre-op cass and met with surgeon this past Wednesday. It still does not seem real. Something I thought I would never do. I can lose the weight, but after 4-5 official diets, gained it back plus 10lbs usually this last time 20 for a total of 50 lb weight gain. Finally said that's it. Need 2 knee replacements too. Just wondering if anyone was told they have to get heparin injections while in hospital following gastric sleeve. I really enjoy reading everyone's posts, it has helped so much, pre and post op sleevers. Any other August sleevers lets keep in touch.

It depends on your surgeon. Most definitely you will be having heparin or something similar while you are in hospital, but from what I've read and researched it depends on your surgeon whether you will be needing to continue the injections while at home. My surgeon does it on a case by case bases, depending on how high risk you are. I will most likely be on injections at home, as I am on the larger side.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
