@@Doubletruble#1 Great question! You have so many good things on your list!

I have a list going in my mind....

2 knee surgeries (as soon as my BMI is below 40, as that is what the surgeon requires. One replacement, the other big bone spur)

Whatever plastics my insurance allows. Fix this hernia my surgeon didn't fix because it's so big.

Go outside, literally. Unless I have to go to the Dr. or shopping, I rarely leave my home. I'm so self-conscious. I've had horrible issues with OCD, and anxiety in general for many years. I'm hoping losing this weight will eliminate one more thing that keeps me locked inside, like a prisoner.

Get a bike. Pink. Start riding around like I'm the wicked witch of the midwest. hehehe

Go to Ireland. (It's a lifelong dream. I will be able to walk and bike and paint...which is exactly what I want to spend a lot of time doing. I also don't smoke anymore, 1.5 years ago I stopped. Travel abroad seems like a real possibility)

Do even more travelling. I'd love to do Disney and NYC (need to be able to do a lot of walking)

Get a dog, FINALLY....because I have wanted one for so many years, and I couldn't get out, and even walk well or long enough to take care of a dog. I want a Boston Terrier, a male, and I'm going to name him Buster!

Start singing in public again. I host open mics, and sing online twice a week. But I want to get out in public again, and sing with the kind of confidence I had when I was younger. I was still fat then, but getting bigger and bigger over the years has really taken a toll on my self esteem.

Date.

I just want to get back to my weight of a few years ago and flounce around the beach in my bikini and go shopping! And feel better health wise. I want to feel good inside and out.

I wish you lots of success on your WL journey. It won't be easy but just take it one day at a time that at the end it will be worth it.

I have a photo album with all the cute dresses and outfits I want to buy after I lose the weight. I have always been a big girl since the age of 13 so I'm excited to be able to wear the cute cloth for a change.

I have a short list that I've been working on:

1.fit in swing at the park and swing race with the kids

2. go down the slide at the park and not get stuck in the tunnel like winnie the pooh

3. run 1 mile non stop then 2 miles, etc til I get to 5miles then I give myself a gold star of achievement :)

4. get some skin taken off and my boobs put back where they used to be maybe implants if they deflate too much

5. ride on a motorcycle(any volunteers? My hubby hates them)

6. plan a trip to Ireland to see where my family came from(we're from Northern Ireland from Tyrone County if anyone else shares the dream)

7. take a full length pic from head to toe-maybe do a full nude pic for my hubby(tastefully of course)

8. ride a bike and not just a big fat tricycle because I can't balance all of this awesome on 2 wheels

9. go to theme park and ride all the rides that won't give me a seizure

10. buy a bikini and wear it like a boss...at least in the comfort of my own backyard.

11. go on airplane ride and buy ONE seat and need only ONE seat

12. go hang gliding off of Lookout Mountain in Colorado

13. climb all the 14ers in Colorado

14. learn to swim

15. buy a single digit size piece of clothing and have it fit-I've been in plus sizes since I was in 3rd grade so this one is a super huge deal to me.

and that's what I have so far, but if I think hard enough I can find more but it's a start! :D

I don't have a specific list, per se, however, I do have things I'd like to do.

I'd certainly like to travel more. I hate planes now because of cramped space. Should just only be a problem of legroom in the future.

I"ve got a few hobbies that I want to be more active in.

Mainly, though, I just want to do everything I do now......but do it much better !!!!

Be successful at whatever I choose to do and have the physical energy and lack of aliments so that it's within my grasp.

Too often good intentions or good plans get side-lined due to sudden pains and bullcrap.

I just went on a 16 day vacation that involved flying and hiking. And xwi

I just got back from a trip that involved a lot of hikining, flying picture taking and swimming. And I kept telling myself how much cooler it would have been if I was thinner. I mean it was cool..except for the pictures... But it would have been AWESOME if I was thinner.

Dogs are the greatest !!!

You'll find they are with you through it all.

I've had German Schauzers since I was a little kid. Great dogs.

The only thing better than one is two. They keep each other out of trouble and play hard together, sleep together, come and go together. They seem even happier than when we just had one. Our's are both female. Much easier to train than the males we've had. Not that the males were hard to work with......the females were just easier. Very intuitive.

The oldest has been through three surgeries with me. Great little sidekick. Looking forward to her getting me through the bypass & hernia repair.

You'll love having a dog. Lot of responsibility but they return every bit of the effort 300%.

Be very, very selective about finding a proper breeder. Only go with one that can provide documented health history of the parents. Hopefully you'll even be able to speak with their vet. Sounds like a lot of work.....but doing so will go a long way to help you avoid future health issues that will be devastating.

Great list item.

Not be embarrassed when clothes shopping about having to shop in a separate section(plus size aka "big girls" aka nothing cute)with friends/family, sit/lay comfortably/sit with my legs crossed, just a bunch of little things like that...

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
