I'm just wondering about visitors. I want my kids to come once just to see that I'm ok but I wonder about other people.

I had 2 friends come to the hospital with me. There was no problem with visitors. But I would call your hospital and find out their policy, I'm sure it varies from hospital to hospital.

Most hospitals allow visitors. I was moved to a private room, so visitors were not an issue, but honestly I only wanted my husband there.

I believe ICU is the one area that has the most restrictions. Check with your surgeon to be sure.

Wishing you a quick recovery!

I'm mainly wondering if I'll want visitors. I really don't want my husband there. He'd make me crazy.

Most people report they sleep the rest of the day after surgery. Since it doesn't sound like you'll have time for visitors (unless you stay more than one night), I wouldn't want to expose people to hospital germs.

Lol on the statemeny about your husband.

The first day was really rough. I barely knew my husband was there. One person was enough @ the hospital - for me. I did need him to motivate me to walk, cause I was in a lot of pain.

Our surgeon warned us that the rooms are very small and, what with Doctors and other medical people in-and-out, it gets real crowded real fast. But then, mine will only be a one-night stay.

I personally only had my mom come visit me. I was pretty miserable - first surgery ever and never been badly sick!

So I'm not sure you'll want people around... I slept a lot, got up to walk down the hall alot... slept some more...

And I distinctly remember telling my mom "I don't care" to all her questions!

"Want your pillow moved over?" IDC

"Want to go walk" IDC

"Want your phone?" IDC

Hopefully you will feel better than I did, though I wasn't in pain, just felt extremely not myself.

The first day, I ended up sending hubby home because I was not in the mood for visitors. I just wanted to sleep. The second day, I felt much better and was up for visitors.

I wasn't going to allow them at first, but after visiting a friend who had the sleeve, I've changed my mind. It really picked her up, and it helped me to see how well she was doing.

In fact I'm encouraging them to video tape me too, especially when I'm high on pain killers. I think it'll be hysterical to watch later!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
