So I had my sleeve 2012. I was great for the first year... Year 2 I started getting a little reflux... But year 3, This past year, has been a nightmare. I am on 5 different medications, I can't get it under control. I saw a surgeon, not the original surgeon, who is colleague of my original surgeon for a second opinion since my original surgeon got defensive like I was accusing him of messing something up. He gave me a few options and we decided on gastric bypass. I had some pre-op testing done and now I wait for my approval. We went over my UGI and it states no reflux however I explained my reflux isn't as soon as I eat.. It's a half an hour to hours later. He thinks I have a stricture or stenosis in my pouch. I am just hoping to be approved. I would really like to have the issue resolved. I am at a loss. If I eat I have heartburn and if I don't I have heartburn. I am miserable.

Let's see, your UGI said that you did not have acid reflux. So there is a strong possibility what you are experiencing is a stricture, which generally is a fairly simple fix. Sounds like a quick fix and also a lot less painful that trying to do a sleeve to RNY revision.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
