Does the protein help us lose weight?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to order some Premier Protein today because the Protein I have been drinking tastes like absolute crap????

I did notice though because of my lack of drinking it, I haven't lost that much weight. In total since June 15, I have lost 33 pounds. But I've noticed a bit of a stall. In the last couple of days, I have only lost 3 pounds and j think it's because of the lack of protein.

If we don't drink enough protein, will we stop losing weight?

Protein is critical for healing and weight loss. Will you stall if you get enough? Yes, most people have periodic stalls. We don't lose at a constant rate. Will you stall if you don't get enough? Absolutely.

June 15 to now .. 33llbs is a fantastic loss !!

Stop weighing yourself every day if you can and make it weekly. If you read a lot of the past posts on stalls you will see if it's normal. You are doing great, remember that :D

Hugs

Protein can be critical. It prevents your body from loosing muscle and it looses fat instead. Also, anemia and other complications can occur from not getting enough protein.

Like the above posts say, stalls are totally normal. Everyone is different. It was suggested to me that at day 6 or 7 of a stall (early on after surgery) starting to log what you are eating and see if there is a diet reason for the stall. Also, either way you can go back to liquids and walk a little more to kick the body back into gear

I agree! 33 pounds since June 15th is amazing. I was sleeved on June 15 and I have lost a total of 22 including my 3 week pre-op diet. I have only lost 7 pounds since I was sleeved. I am only weighing once a week.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
