1 month post how many calories

Recommended Posts

I'm 1 month out from sleeve surgery. I have no idea how much I should be eating or how many calories. I'm getting in all my Protein and fluids, but yesterday I counted up my calories and they equalled almost 600. I'm currently at the 3-4 week stall so any help is appreciated.

600 - 800 calories a day is what my surgeon and nutritionist advised me during this period. I'm currently at 6 weeks and that's how much I get in. I've noticed when I hit around 700-800 I feel a lot better the next day. It's really dependent on how you feel. Your body will tell you if you're needing more calories. I wouldn't stay below 600 consistently because that could be bad for you. Ultimately, I'd discuss with your surgeon where you should be calorie wise. If you're not using something like Myfitnesspal to document your food, I recommend it.

Did you talk to your nutritionist? At one month I was eating 400 -600 calories a day minimal of 60gm Protein, 64 ounces fluids. At 3 mths I increased my calories to 600-800 and at 9 months I increased to 1000 calories. Your nutritionist should be reviewing all of this with you. She may advice higher on lower depending on your lifestyle and activity level. You need to call her if you are unsure.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
