Port pain on inside

Recommended Posts

The area where my port is hurts on the inside. Also, is the hard part we can feel supposed to be about 2 inches? I was imagining the port being about the size of a dime. But the hard area seems bigger. I'm scared my port detached or flipped? My doc can't see me u til july 2 and it feels like I pulled a muscle inside? Maybe I did? I also feel a bit bloated. Unsure if it's related? Would my insides hurt if I got stuck? it seems like my band tightened up a tad. I'm ending my menstrual cycle, pretty much done, so I don't know. I'm concerned this pain...it's not horrible, but al last feels like when I used to run like crazy as a kid and ,y stomach would hurt? Please help!

Speaking just for me, my port is about 2" circumference. Yes I can see it a bit and feel it. It hurts if anything pressed it hard... Mostly I don't notice it much.

Good luck and keep posting.

Thank you so much for the replies. My port pain pretty much went away. Wondering if it was a pulled muscle or stitch ripped. Thankful for no pain there.

How long ago were you banded?

I had a similar situation....sharp tearing pains, especially when I was working out.

It was explained to me this way......

My port is stitched to the abdominal muscle, so it would not move or flip....as I lost weight, and ate less, my stomach shrank and my AB's hardened....thus the stitches pulling on the muscle (tearing)

That was in my case, and has not happened in years...only during the weight loss phase along with muscle toning.

BTW, I read so many stories about ports flipping, etc, I wonder if all Dr.'s anchor the port? Or perhaps it is difficult to do so if the fat layer is so thick?....just a thought.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
