Is my surgeon too easy-going and liberal?

Recommended Posts

My doctor is 5-7 days full liquids, 5-7 days puréed, 5-7days mechanical soft, and then to chicken, fish and adding food. You progress through the range when you feel ready.

I'm almost a year out and have been eating on the average of 1,000 to 1,200 calories for about six to eight months out. If I go too low I don't lose. I do have to be careful with carbs, over 120 carbs I also stop losing. So I try to eat around 80 to 100 grams of carbs. For a while I was just losing 3 pounds a month, but I got back on track and lost 5 last month.

I am worried that if I eat too little calories now, that my "set point" will be lower later. Or is that just an irrational fear and my body/level of exercise is going to figure out its own set point for cals whether I like it or not?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
