August 2003 bandsters...

Recommended Posts

Well I have plenty to say. First of all the band is a wonderful tool. Not a magic bullet but a wonderful tool. I have lost 55 lbs. I feel great and this is still one of the best decisions I ever made. I would do it over again.

I've had 4 adjustments total. I have stumbled with diet yeah still diet because I am one of these bandsters who can eat anything just not as much.

I will say a word about empty calories. I was stuck and thats why. High calorie mixed drinks, sweet tea and snacking between meals this has delayed me months. Alchahol will slow your progress dramaticly, yeah dramaticly.

I'm at 225 from really 280lbs when I started this....

I'm here for anyone with questions simply email me!! good luck to all and God Bless..

Hello fellow bandsters,

How is everyone doing? I am doing GREAT!!!! I have lost a total of 142lbs in the last year. Well it actually took me 10 months to lose this, but I got pregnant the middle of June so I am now just maintaining my weight and bouncing back and forth from 260lbs to 265lbs. I have lost most of my friends and family. i.e. my sister only weighs 115lbs ect...

How is everyone else doing? Has anyone else gotten pregnant? My doc says that everything should go great but I am still a little bt scared!!! If anyone has any advise let me know. I send all my love:)

Wow...where do I start??? I had lost down to 192, then had a baby in January and have been nothing but lazy since then!! I gained back up to 215!!! I was nowhere near my "sweet spot" and could eat just about anything I wanted. So yesterday I finally got a fill and I'm praying that it will jump start my weight loss again. I am gonna stop breaking the "band rules" and start doing my part. I have finally realized that the band is a tool, not a cure-all. I am still incredibly happy with the band and I'd do it all over again 100 times to feel the way about myself that I feel now. It has been quite a journey, but very well worth it! I'm sure the next time I post, I will be back down to that 192 and on my way down even further!

Congratulations to everyone who has done so well! It's so nice to hear all of your updates!

I'm ok too - feeling good, positive - looking forward to my future!

I'm happy with my weight - even though I still have a bit to go - I've decided NOT to go for the BMI 25 - but to stay where i'm happy & not let the scales rule my life. - That may change - but until it does, i'm just happy being me!

Aud x

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
