Needed - swift kick in the ass[ets]

Recommended Posts

Backstory - felt crappy most of May, nausea, barfing, rainbow poops, etc. Felt better with carbs. Got my meds re-arranged and now feeling much better (and gallbladder coming out soon) but haven't changed my wicked ways. I am quickly sliding down a slippery slope of increasing naughtiness and I need a poke. Somebody please tell me the following:

1. LOG your food.< /p>

2. Healthy Protein first.

3. Get your liquids in.

4. Stuff you eat with your fingers and not a fork still COUNTS.

5. WALK around for Pete's sake.

6. Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

7. No more soft KITTY warm kitty.

Let me hear you!

Swamp doggie- I think we were sleeved around the same time. I feel your pain. I too have been slipping somewhat and I'm aggravated with myself. I'm still losing but very slow. I need to exercise but I've been so busy at work I haven't had time. Only in my days off - I'll walk the track first thing in the am but I'm working 6 days this week. Now that my son took off for the summer I'm hoping I can get back on track.

I have done the same thing. So glad I am not the only one. My sleeve was done 7 mo ago and I was hoping to reach goal by Aug. You gave me inspiration though! Thank you for your honesty as it really helps me to know that I am not alone. I have a bad tendancy to drink after eating which I am ashamed to say. This is because I totally forget that we are not supposed to drink after eating. Like just now, I had 1/2 egg w/cheese on 1/2 wheat thin. I hit the wall and am full but forgot the rule and had a few sips of my coffee. Will do better!

I want to say I am so greatful to all of you out there! You are my life line.

I've made enough excuses in the last couple of weeks. No more. I've had slips that turned into years long free-falls. I'm the only one who can turn me around. So, I AM EATING HEALTHFULLY today.

Awwwww @@Swampdoggie! You're one of my favorite peeps! You've got this! You know what needs to be done...now just DO IT! I know it's hard when you're having some health issues. But think how badly you're going to feel if you undo everything you've worked so hard for?

At the least, before your gall bladder surgery, try to maintain. (When is your surgery by the way?) Follow your rules, get out and get some sunshine, dammit!

Otherwise, I will have to travel to Maryland all the way from Idaho and kick your butt!

@@Babbs back atcha baby!

I do know what I need to do. And I really have wanted to do so much of this for health reasons (not just because I badgered my husband into agreeing I could have an RV when I lose 80 lbs). I DO know how much better I feel when I'm eating healthy. And I know sugar in all its forms makes those blasted lyme beasties happy so anything I can do to thwart those vile critters is a priority.

My surgery is on July 6.

THANKS!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
