Almost one year out... Pics enclosed

Recommended Posts

June 18 will be a year that I had my surgery. I have lost around 60 pounds and have 25 more to go to reach my goal. I will be honest and admit that I have been very frustrated many times with my slow weight loss. I figured I would have been at goal by now especially with me working out like a mad woman. But I have realized something…so what it takes me a little longer to get to my goal than it does others. What's the hurry? This is a lifetime thing. I am happy and I feel great, like a completely new person so I will keep trucking along and doing what I'm doing. I will get there. :)

First of all, I love that your progress pic is in your workout clothes! Proves that you have made a big life change.

Second of all, you are looking GREAT!

Third of all, today is my 9 month surgeversary and I just posted about how I am thrilled with my 60 pound loss so far. I'm to the point where I am only losing about a half a pound a week now and I have 21 pounds to go to reach my ultimate goal, but I am just thrilled to be living my life right now. If I don't lose another pound, I can be content in knowing that my life is forever changed and improved.

You look fantastic! I work out like crazy too and I'm losing slow. So glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm developing amazing patience.

Yes like a pencil eraser. My largest one is not as big as a quarter. Maybe a nickle but longer. That was the only one that took a little longer to heal than the rest of them. Fortunately, I didn't have any real pain at the incision points. I didn't need to take any of the pain meds that gave me.

are they small like a pencil eraser? And on larger one like with of a quarter?

@@missswizzlemalarkey I have 5 scars as well. The smallest one is in the center, just below my breast bone and is maybe the width of a pencil eraser. Two are low on either side of my belly button, the right one is maybe the width of a dime and the right is about the width of a quarter. To the left of that one is another one about the width of nickel. and the to the left of THAT and a little lower is where my drain hole was, which is round and about the size of a pencil eraser. I am 9 months out and all of my scars are still very visible, since I am fair-skinned and they are all still somewhat red. Once they've faded to silver/white, I think they will be less visible.

You can see the four lower ones pretty well in this pic taken back in March... they haven't faded much since then:

Edit: Jeez... I need to take new progress pics. I've only lost like 10 pounds since those pics from March, but I can definitely see the difference!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
