Hey there September sleevers! Any one out there?

Recommended Posts

So glad I found this post! I will need to go back and read up :)

I am converting from band to sleeve on September 23rd. After 14 years I want the band out but I am not going to lie, I am scared. Getting hiatal hernia repair also so it will be a big surgery.

My surgeon does not require a preop diet but I am going to try and eat clean and do Protein Shakes starting tomorrow.

Can you guys tell me what your favorite shakes are and what to look for in a shake? I want to try a couple. I will be traveling 4 hours for surgery and staying in a hotel for 10 days so premade is best but don't mind having powder suggestions for when I get back home.

Again, so glad I found you guys :)

Keep pushing guys we are all almost on the other side

@@VDLT I am day 8 on my all liquid preop diet and I am starving but taking one day at a time with help of people in the room as I have had to be talked off the ledge a couple of times lol. I love the Boost Glucose Control drinks as they especially the chocolate are good, no after taste.

Good luck everyone! The pre-op diet is HARD. It definitely gets easier post op. I was having some major hunger pains, POST OP on my 5 and 6 nights post op. I read on another website that a surgeon (? wrote a book, maybe a Hispanic name) discussed this as being inflammation in your stomach that feels like physical hunger. I'm not talking mental hunger here. He recommended Gavisccon (sp?) and it has helped. I was scared my sleeve wasn't working. It's amazing how the pounds just melt off the first couple of weeks. Although you're not eating much. I feel so much better already.

My surgery date was 9/1/2015. I took deodorant, toothbrush/toothpaste, panties, and a change of clothes. I also took my iPad and kindle as you get pretty bored although you're not feeling great.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
