Just recently quit smokung

This was hard! But worth it. I think cigarettes are a very addictive drug because if they weren't it would be easier to quit. I've wanted and needed to quit for a while, and this gave me the incentive. Happy, healthier life!!

I quit at the end of 2013. Very hard, but so worth it. I smoked over 35 years.

@@perk4756 @@judyoz both of you did a MAJOR life changing thing by quitting smoking. I lost my mom to throat cancer from smoking in 1986.

I quit on 4-1-14 in preparation for this surgery. Best decision ever. My hubs quit with me. We both smoked 30+ years.

Good job! Such a huge accomplishment! I too quit a couple months before surgery after smoking for almost 25 years. I honestly think I'm more proud of quitting smoking than I am the surgery :)

I quit smoking COLD TURKEY 3/9/13 It was soo Hard but I did it. I am hoping I have as much or better success with my food addiction and weight loss journey. The last 50 lbs I gained was due to quitting smoking. I am lucky to have such a great support group and all of you to lean on. There have been times that I finish a meal or get stressed that I think Okay time to go out and have a cigarette and then I remember silly girl you don't smoke anymore.

Good for you all!! My doctor had me do blood tests before surgery and they do test for nicotine!! Stay focus so a cigarette won't set you back from your surgery date!!

I'm doing good not smoking actually. I just keep telling myself, eyes in the prize. Lol. And been making the smokers in my life keep them away from me while smoking too. I've seen where second hand smoke showed up on a couple people.

Well done to you all, ! :). For me this wasn't a hard thing to do as i was really ready to quit. I had tried twice before and failed. This time around i got help from my GP and used Champix to help me along with a Nicorette inhalator. It gave me a nicotine hit if and when i needed it without the smoke. Within two weeks i was off smokes. After smoking for 33 years this was for me one of the best things i did for myself. I have been smoke free since Dec 2013 and have loved every minute of it.

I quit in 2012 using e-cigs after receiving two cardiac stents, sad but I still miss cigarettes and smoking a lot but I know I did the right thing health wise and a pack of smokes in NYC are darn near 13$ bucks a pack which in itself is a deterrent.

I love my e-cig though. I use 0 nicotine black cherry e-juice. Not harmful. It has vegetable glycol...the edible kind used in baking) I don't have to have it as much as I used to have cigarettes (can you say chainsmoker!?) But I think it is the act of blowing smoke that I like, plus I do like the black cherry taste! No calories either!! BONUS!

I was able to quit six weeks ago for surgery... If it wasn't for my 0 nic vape pen I would have gone crazy. I haven't used my vape pen in about three weeks, but to be honest I really really want a smoke right now.

@@mandaroo I don't think the craving ever really goes away. But it may become easier to work through them. I am only 1 year and 2 months smoke free. I hope I never pick them up again. This is the longest I've gone without smoking, So, I am giving credit to my ecig. It is a nice substitute and it doesn't stink up my house, car or hair!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
