Pain one month post op

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I am 1 month post op, I haven't had pain for at least 3 weeks. I was bending over to put on my shoes and felt a pop in the right side of my abd followed by severe pain. I went to my local ER and was told it was a muscle strain. I still have the severe pain primarily with walking that radiates to my back. The pain is worse than i felt post op. I've been reassured that it's nothing on the inside but the pain is unreal. Have any of you experienced this?? If so, how long did the pain last?

I had it too. It went away after a couple of days. I was told it is part of the normal healing process. It's good you went to the doctor though, and didn't just rely on BP to diagnose you. :)

I had that same thing 3-4 weeks out, and wound up in ER as well. Turns out in that large incision, there is a stitch that holds the muscle that the doc pulled the stomach out through. I strained that muscle and had a little tear where the stitch was. Rested for a couple days and I was fine. I just overdid it -- I was feeling good so thought I was all healed!

Thanks so much for your reply. Once I went to the ER where they did the surgery that is exactly what I was told. I just never imagine it would be this painful! It gives me encouragement that it was only a couple days, I need to get back to work:)

I had it, too. And it was awful! I was told I had an abdominal stitch that was pulling. The good news is it went away but it did take 2 weeks. No further problems since.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
