Traveling with the Sleeve

Recommended Posts

I travel quite a bit for work (33 times last year) and when I had my band would find it really hard to stay in the game when traveling. It's so much harder (I feel like) when you don't know the area you are in, deal with a late flight so grocery shopping is not an option and at the hotel might not have a refrigerator. One idea I had was to pack my 1 pound Oster blender in my suitcase with pre portioned Protein. What are ways, tips and tricks you stay on point when traveling?

I scoped out on-line, more info about the room (refrigerator) and what was open 24 hours in the area (Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens, etc).

I would prep Protein Shakes in ziplock bags for each day then pack them in a shaker bottle. Would also pack high quality Protein Bars in my suitcase. Continental Breakfast is often very carb heavy but fruit, coffee and a Protein is usually available. I used to spend 2-3 nights per week in a hotel so it becomes impairs rice to build a routine for yourself. Always took workout clothes because if nothing else you can run the stairs or jog locally.

Darn auto correct should say it becomes imperative

I'm 4wks post-op sleeve, recently had to travel for my husbands work, I was so frustrated upon arrival to find the room had no frig or microwave. So we went to walgreens (open 24hrs thank God) got a cooler and drinks for the room. Kept it filled with ice from hotel and was able to have my Protein Drinks there at least. Brought my ninja blender. Ice was free like most hotels. I also used my restaurant finder app for places like Panera bread, French onion Soup strained was great. The key for me was planning.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
