Wow it's so different here in Australia. 3 nights is standard for a Sleeve. I had some nausea issues so stayed 4.

I was there 2 nights. I really wanted to go home after the first night. I was so uncomfortable. Not to mention falling asleep only to someone poking and prodding at me and waking me up. I was approved for up to 7 days.

Yeah it sounds like one night is pretty standard. I have 7 kids at home and a husband so I don't think I would have mind the extra night haha!

I had surgery monday and only stayed one night. Honestly u will be shocked how okay u feel to go home. It's not painless but it's not tooo painful either. It wasn't for me anyway

There is at least 1 dr here in Dallas that does sleeve patients as outpatient surgery - they go home same day! Seems a bit scary to me, but I had a friend that did it and she did fine.

I'm having nausea issues, chest pains, and on my 4th night in the hospital tonight. I hope I get to be home by Monday. I really do, I am soooo ready to be home, but I have to eat(drink) more...and get this pain under control.

I sure know I am ready to go home!! lol My body is not understanding that so much.

I woke up twice last night, severe chest pains and told nurse I felt short of breath, first time she said I was fine.

Second time some alarm is going off because my oxygen was so low. She immediately puts oxygen on me and I feel like I can finally breathe.

I don't know what this is going to mean for me today....if I get to go home.

I am thankful to be able to breathe. I'll keep you updated.

I'm one night also. That's pretty standard. If the doc feels like he needs to keep you longer they just call insurance company back and explain "need"

I was originally going with a doctor in Dallas and the post-op instructions said that I would go home the same day and 1 night stay max. I am now going to TJ to have my sleeve and I will stay 2 nights in the hospital and 1 night at a condo unit. I am way more comfortable with the standards in TJ. My procedure is scheduled for June 15th.

Day 5, still won't let me go home. :( Had a seriously rough night. I still have too many things going on. Terrible chest pains, oxygen low, nausea, feet swelling. Had chest xray and EKG, still don't know results.

I do have this positive thing to report. This is day 3 with no need for any short acting insulin or short or long acting diabetes meds. My blood sugar was 87 today when I woke up.

I know I am hardly eating anything, but even if I did that pre-surgery, I would still have to take insulin my numbers would stay high enough.

I just want to feel better and come home! I miss my bed. and privacy, and being able to sleep as long as I want.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
