Anyone else having bad diarrhea from protein shakes?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure what to do. I'll call my Drs office in the morning. It seems that it is the actual Protein supplement that is causing the issue and not just the milk because I switched to unflavored protein with broth today instead of milk based shakes. Any ideas?

All whey and Ceisian based Proteins did that to me :(

I like pea, hemp, soy...I usually go with anything marked vegan because they like to sneak whey into everything.

I had the same problem with whey powders. I switched to Premier Protein ready made shakes and have not had any problem since.

Trying Isopure clear zero carb Protein Drinks from GNC per NUT's direction. Now the problem is just that I don't like the taste. I can live with that though, and it does seem like my tummy is tolerating these better. They're crazy expensive though.

OMG yes, it's not all the time but it is enough. I can hear my stomach bubbling lol. I am only 5 days away from surgery and it's been challenging. I cannot drink milk so I use the Almond Dream but I think because the carnation essential powder with no sugar added has milk products in it, I'm still getting the stomach issues and diarrhea, gas at times. This is definitely challenging.

I had diarreah so bad I was rehospitalized. Eventually, I was put on a powder form of Cholestyramine called Prevalite. It worked fantastic in stopping the diarreah but you probably will need to eat Protein instead of the shakes. If you have problems and need to talk, email me at smilesweet@aol.com

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
