When did your fatigue stop?

Recommended Posts

My head has a dull ache and I'm so tired! Please tell me there is an end to this fatigue! When did you start having energy after surgery?

I felt great after the first week, but like you I had the fatigue and overly tired feeling. I started getting more energy back the second week when I was able to get in all my Protein and start taking Vitamins... I was on full liquids then and think the smidgen of extra calories helped too. I had a really easy recovery, I think it just varies for everyone.

I'm old and tired. It took me two months, but I'm in a good place now.

I wondered the same thing! I felt the most energy after I started getting Protein...but I will admit at 24 days out I hit pockets of tired out of the blue. It's not unusual for me to start out strong inthe morning and go the day and it is also not unusual for me to have a tired day where I can take a nap at the drop of the hat, go to sleep at 8:30 and sleep through.

I take the energy as it comes and respect when it is time to rest. Between all of us...I'm starting to really like the naps...

It took me about two months to get my energy back. I am beginning my fourth month now and on the days when I can't get enough calories in, I still feel very weak and tired.

I was tired until I started eating solid foods. I wasn't in the beginning. I'm about 5 or 6 weeks out now. I try to focus on eating foods high in Protein. The shakes were making me sick after a while. tuna is a great source of protein. I feel pretty good now.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
