Sprinolactone? PMS? Just me?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 1/16/15 and have been at a stall for the last week or so- fighting the same few pounds- and am now GAINING weight! I feel like crying! I go to the gym 5 days a week, eat pretty low carb and while, yes, I do indulge in naughty food here and there- its not a lot and it is tracked in My Fitness Pal and I am usually still on track.

I am within 2 weeks of my period starting and feel all over the placeeel. I am EXTRA crazy feeling right now: I can't concentrate, want to eat ALL the time, am super duper tired despite good sleep, and my boyfriend is getting on my NERVES- for no reason at all. I got angry because he said good-bye this morning before leaving for work. Uh- that's crazy-town right there! :)

I did just start Spironolactone for PCOS-related issues (excessive hair- woohoo!). However, I don't see how that would cause me to gain weight and go wacky.

Is a 3 month stall a thing? Is this just a viscous period? Is anyone else getting weird/crazy PMS post surgery?

I feel like I am being a baby; I know that with eating right and working out, weight will eventually come off. However, seeing the scale go UP kills me.

I don't know about weight gain with Spironolactone but I got incredible uncle weakness and foggy brain. Went away about 6 weeks after stopping it.

I took it years ago and it worked as a diuretic. I would think it might help with Water weight? I don't know.....everyone is so different.

If you are doing everything you're supposed to be doing food wise, then this is temporary and the weight will come off. It's hard to see it on the scale, though, so maybe.....stay off the scale until after your period? Just a suggestion :-)

I've been taking the drug for six months and have lost 130 pounds since September. My period is very irregular, but my doc says it is due to the weight loss.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
