I haven't heard of too many. For me, I was given blood thinners in the oor and a couple of times a day while in the hospital. Plus got to wear the little leg booties. the way my surgeon put it is, "We treat a thousand people to help prevent the complications that one person would have."

DVT is a very real risk for any surgery. That is why the surgeon's instructions include blood thinners, leg compression devices, but most importantly, walking.

I had a DVT before I had bypass and had no issues with getting one from surgery

I've had two c-sections and had the bypass on 11/11/14. I've had no issues at all. I also made a point to do as I was told when I came home after surgery. They are going to tell you to walk, make a point to walk. Even if it's for 10 minutes every hour your awake. You will do great ????.

I had leg compression booties and blood thinners. If you walk enough you should also have a reduced risk.

I have a history of blood clots ,but the hospital kept a close eye on it. They gave me shots of blood thinners several times a day. Had me up and walking several times a day and I had the compression devices on my legs. My surgeon also sent me home with 3 weeks of injections to take. The hospital does a great job of staying on top of things and making sure there are no complications like that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
