How many Flintstone vitamins?

Recommended Posts

Hey there! I need some suggestions. I was given the Bariatriac Advantage Multivitamins and they come up quicker than they go down. My doctor said I could take the flinstone Vitamins instead but I'm not sure how many to take daily. I've read that some people take 1, others take 2.

I could not tolerate the Bariatric Advantage horse pills. I tried crushing them and putting it in shakes, applesauce, oatmeal - maybe a dozen different things, and it kept coming back to haunt me. I tried cutting them in fourths, but could not swallow the sharp edges. I was given the OK for Flintstones chewables with Iron and I take two a day, but not close to when I take my Calcium. When I had my one year labs in January, my nutrient values were better than fine.

I don't know US brands but I Assume Flintstones are for children? Your docs have said OK but do be aware many nutritionists don't! The problem is that doubling up for an adult dose can give you too much of some things like Vit A and that can actually be harmful.

You need to read the labels of recommended adult Vitamins to find the recommended adult dose and then compare to the Flintstones. When I did that with a UK children's tablet I found some vits wouid have needed two tabs, some more than two and some less than two. And some things weren't there at all!

I had a RNY and the Vitamin requirements may be different that those who undergo a sleeve. I was directed to take 3 Flintstone multivitamins a day. I have heard that those requirements have been revised down within the last year. The current requirement is 2.

I am on 2 Flintstones a day, and since I actually like them ( a kid at heart?) I asked if I could be on them forever and my dietician said that would be fine.

Per surgeon recommendation, I take 2 Flintstones a day, 2 Calcium chewables and 3 Vit B6 disolvable pills.< /p>

Anyone take the Flintstone Vitamins whole? I know they are chewable, but I do not like them and the flavor seems to linger in the mouth. (I never had so much trouble with taking stuff before WLS. :P )

Are the Flintstone Vitamins like Gummy bears, or are they just chewable? I can't swallow the horse pills either, but there are signs around my Bariatric pratice that say any of the gummy bear vitamins aren't effective.

You can actually get either kind. I do the chewable since i don't like gummy bears. But I do know they come in that form as well.

I'm doing the chewables. I tolerate them well (thank goodness)!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
