How often do all of you weigh in? I'm finding that weighing is frustrating as it can be a bit inconsistent. Overall I'm still losing, but watching the scale is an emotional roller coaster. My instinct tells me to let it go, weigh once or twice a week (at the same time of day), however with all this change and newness maybe I should be hyper focused on that particular metric. Thoughts?

I weigh every morning. But i don't freak out if i go up. I've noticed the day after a heavy weight training day i gain. So i really only look at long term.... maybe only count every other day or so

I was weighing every day, but since I hit a stall it became depressing so I do it every few days. I always weigh in the morning before I eat or drink anything.

I weight myself daily. When I wake up. I track my weight ounce a week on an excel spreadsheet. I also take photos of myself on my anniversary date which is the second of every month. It does not bother me if the scale shows I gained a few pounds. I know I didn't eat an extra 3500 calories the day before. That is what works for me :)

Starting weight:242

Current weight:158

Surgery date: 10/02/14

I go back and forth. I try to do twice a week but sometimes it's more. I stay off completely around my period. I've become obsessed with the scale at different parts of this. It's not a good thing! Ideally, I would like to weigh once a week until I hit my goal but I get too curious during the week.

I weigh myself twice a day – first thing in the morning, and last thing at night. My night time weight is always higher, but it still gives me a preview of what to expect in the morning. I've been pretty obsessive about numbers, so it helps me stay on track. Speaking of scales, since you were just sleeved this month, let me give you a heads-up about what to expect so you don't freak out when it happens....

If you haven't already, you will soon reach The Dreaded Week-3 Stall. It's perfectly normal, and just about all of us have suffered through it. You're not crazy, and your doctor didn't screw up. In fact, you might not lose any weight for two weeks or even longer. But don't worry – after that, the pounds will start falling off if you stick to your program. And, the inches will continue to come off even while the scale isn't budging. Here's a good article that explains why it happens and why we all have to go through it. Hang in there. Pretty soon it'll be in the rear-view mirror and you'll be dropping weight again!

(Apologies to BP regulars who have seen this repeatedly, but it's a big deal to those who are going through it!)

I weigh in a lot, probably way more than I should. I weigh every morning when I wake up and every evening before bed. I will even weigh myself after having a bowel movement. I will vary a little, but I am not too concerned if I am up by about a pound or so, unless I know I ate poorly.

Don't put too much emphasis on what the scale says on a daily basis, but on how much better you feel and your non scale victories.

I was a bit obsessed with the scale. I put one in my business and would over check. When I hit one of my stalls I would weigh myself a lot. Now I can weigh a few times a week. It's a conscious decision to not weigh myself

Thank you for posting the stall article. It helped alleviate my anxiety with my stall. They state to keep carbs at 50g per day. Does that include fruit? Which shows up as carbs.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
