@@reree6898, the only favor I ask in return is that you let me know what you think. And go ahead, try and make something up - there's a lot of trial and error, but I think you might surprise yourself :)

@@sbagby1960, I'm glad to hear the second batch was more successful.

@@Ryan TN, in the meantime I highly recommend the pho broth to help speed along your recovery - that and it tastes fantastic.

@@Ryan TN, the blog is here (click on the word 'here').

As for a cookbook, if you (or anyone else) have connections to help me make it happen, I'm all over it!

I would order pho with tendon and let the tendon sit in the broth over night. The tendon contains a lot of Protein. Your stomach can't digest the tendon yet, but it makes great broth with great protein just make sure they leave out the noodles!

Also a good call, certainly faster & easier - presumably if you left the tendon in overnight you'd get a similar protein assay as with the full Bone Broth of the homemade stuff.

I would scope out different phone places and find the best broths. They really do vary. They are so comforting, they keep well and they are satifying. Bone broth is magical if you're familiar with the preparation. Pho varieties also offer chicken, beef and vegetarian broths for variety. If you reheat, you can stir in an egg and add some extra protein.

Yes! I've been thinking I'd take wings for a Thanksgiving app, so I'd love to see a good recipe!

BariBrothers, BariSisters, and BariAllies,

I'm currently working on the very early stages of putting together and publishing a cookbook companion to the blog (with a few exclusive recipes, I might add). And I need your help!

If you have made any of the recipes and are willing to submit either a blurb or a photograph of their finished product, please email me at barideliciousbarihealthy @gmail.com. I will be certain to credit you in the product and send along a few other perks as well.

If you have any other help you believe you can offer, email me that as well.

Don't feel like you have anything to offer just yet? Don't worry, I'll be posting a kickstarter soon once I have the campaign fully put together and so the rest of you can help :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
