How fast was your Aetna approval?

Recommended Posts

I had my final visit for my three month multi-discplinary plan today to meet insurance requirements. I was told all of my info would be submitted tomorrow. My surgeon does not have a wait list at this point so my surgery will be scheduled as soon as approval is achieved. My husband would like to squeeze in a weekend getaway before all this takes place so I'm just trying to gauge the timeline. I was told today that Aetna has two weeks to approve. I'm looking for real-life scenarios. Nothing tricky in my file- weight loss the whole time- no additional tests required- documentation of 2 years of obesity....It's all there! Should be cut and dry in my opinion.

Less than 24 hours but nurse said that was unusual...and a couple of days was more the norm.

!6 days to get an approval. They kept saying they didn't have everything as of the 14th day, I believe they were just back logged and was pressured for time.

I read one of your posts that you gained weight during the 3 month diet. Did you lose the gained weight in your last visit? I have a similar situation but my last visit I gained ond pound. I was submitted and I am scared I will get denied for this.

I never gained any weight during my weigh ins- I was always able lose a pound or two from my previous weight. The only time I gained was AFTER I had received approval at my pre-op appointment.

I should clarify that I gained weight in between the weigh ins but was always able to drop it right before I had to weigh in.

I gained two pounds during my program. Got chewed out for it. By the time if my final weigh in I was one pound less than my initial weight. My doc didn't seem concerned that I hadn't lost more.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
