Type 2 (or ex) diabetic men

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 5 months ago and my dad seems interested because he likes my results.

He's young 40's and has been type 2 diabetic since he was 20. I belive he is a bit over or under 300lbs

He's health seems to spiral down and I'm worried because he has so many joint issues.

I want to know if this sounds or sounded like you and how you did and are doing.

Did your diabetes go away or did your medicane decrease?

I just want what's best for my dad's health

If your a woman in the same range I'd like to hear from you too.

Sleeved at 47. I was teetering on full on Type 2 Diabetes, and was on Metformin. I also had dangerously high blood pressure (158/102) and was put on medication for that. After 2-3 weeks being sleeved, I was taken off both medications because my numbers had improved so much :)

I think your dad sounds like the perfect candidate for sleeve surgery if that's something he wants to do. Help him out and show him this site and others he can get some good research about it to make the decision.

You're a good daughter :)

Yeah I mean I'm not saying I wasn't big buy I was 259 and luckily didn't have any illness but I was almost diabetic. I know this surgery is great for those with the hardcore issues. Like my dad but the idea scares me it's weird.

Thanks for your response

Yeah, you're young, that's why no medical issues really. It's a good thing you nipped it in the bud when you did, cause getting older and being obese doesn't do any favors to your body!

I had the surgery because I was type2, as well as high blood pressure and it has helped both

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
