Insurance approved today! Set for May 21st! Anyone else?

I just got the call that my insurance approved today and my surgery is set for May 21. I just got finished with vacation so from here on my new life is about to begin. I kind of had my "fat funeral" on vacation. Didn't go crazy, just ate what ever I wanted knowing it would be the last time in a long time. I'm an emotional binge eater too so I'm most worried about that when stress becomes a factor. Looking for some other people going on this journey at the same time so we can support and encourage each other. My husband had the lap band in 2007, which hasn't worked for him long term. He is urging me to do this because he feels it will be better results than the band. He wants to be sleeved to but insurance won't approve the revision because his band isn't problematic. So nervous, excited and scared all at once. I'm 5'7, 250lbs. Can't wait for this!

I have two days left. I've lost 10lbs.

Hi, I'm set for surgery May 21st. My doctor only has us doing liquid diet the day before the surgery, not two weeks, so I feel a bit lucky. No caffeine now, having my last Diet Pepsi today.

Very excited! We've got 1 week to go! I did my pre-op testing today and had boot camp yesterday. This sh*t is real now!

I have preop on Wednesday. It's an all day affair :) 5 days!!!

I'm May 21 also. Can't wait for this damn liquid diet to be over!!!

How is everyone doing here? I know I am ready for tomorrow and wish u all good luck & prayers ♡

Thanks Rebecca, same to you. I'm as ready as I'll ever be! Just looking forward to the surgery being successful and being on the road to wellness and health!

My best wishes!!! Life is giving you a second chance to start over and become a better person, not that you're not, but for me taking this step meant to stay longer for my family now I get to do a lot of activities that I couldn't before, even though I always was a good daughter, sister, etc.... I was being selfish by having all my love ones worry about my health and my life... CONGRATS.

My surgery went excellent! I'm In my hospital room now recovering. Lots of nausea and very tired and dizzy. Tried waking 2xs but didn't get very far. Dry heaves ugh. Hoping tomorrow's better!

That's wonderful it went so well! I had mine too and I have to say the staff from the surgeon down have phenominal! Lots of discomfort but no real gas pains but I'm sure they are coming ;) I hope you are all doing great and staying strong. Hugs to all xo

I am new to this site myself but I had my surgery May 11th. It is great I have lost 27 lbs since then and I am no longer on blood pressure meds

Hi Rebecca! So happy to hear you're doing well! I'm also doing well. I am still on full liquids until Saturday, so I can't wait to have some cottage cheese! Energy level is about 3/4 of the way back to normal. Here's a little tmi, lol, today I was happy to finally have a bm since surgery on Thursday!

I'm jealous of both of you - I'm on liquids for 3 weeks total. After two weeks I can add in yogurt. I miss chewing! Though my popsicles help a little.
