Insurance approved today! Set for May 21st! Anyone else?

I just got the call that my insurance approved today and my surgery is set for May 21. I just got finished with vacation so from here on my new life is about to begin. I kind of had my "fat funeral" on vacation. Didn't go crazy, just ate what ever I wanted knowing it would be the last time in a long time. I'm an emotional binge eater too so I'm most worried about that when stress becomes a factor. Looking for some other people going on this journey at the same time so we can support and encourage each other. My husband had the lap band in 2007, which hasn't worked for him long term. He is urging me to do this because he feels it will be better results than the band. He wants to be sleeved to but insurance won't approve the revision because his band isn't problematic. So nervous, excited and scared all at once. I'm 5'7, 250lbs. Can't wait for this!

You're not kidding! I am not an all night stomach sleeper, but for some reason it's how I always fall asleep. When did your Dr. say you could go back to it? I think mine said 2 weeks. I'll have to ask him at my post op follow up appointment on Friday.

I go on Friday for my 1 week follow up I am going to ask him for sure! It will be heaven as well as getting this drain out! Hopefully Friday nite I can sleep on my stomach and have drain removed!!! I think I can start pureed too :)) thank goodness

Had my first post op appointment with my surgeon today! I weighed in on his scale at 226! I was 242 at my last pre op appointment about 2.5 weeks ago! He said I'm healing really well, cleared me to drive again (woo hoo!) and said I can start moderate exercise! I started pureed foods today and had some cottage cheese and a little egg drop soup. I go back in 3 weeks and he said he expects me to have lost at least another 10lbs by then. Hope everyone is doing well!

So happy for you! I went Friday too. Lost 15 pounds so far since coming home last Saturday. My surgeon said to try pureed for 2-3 days then on Monday I can advance to soft!!! So happy :)) he also said I could sleep on my stomach....heaven!! I tried scrambled egg yesterday and tolerated it only 5 bites but it was sooooo good! Keep me posted, love hearing how you are doing
