Anyone whose goal weight is less than 100 pounds?

Recommended Posts

How long did it take you to reach your goal weight? I need to lose a total of 83 pounds to reach my goal. In 9 months, I have lost 59 pounds. I feel like I should have lost a lot more by now but it has been slow going. I work out 5 days a week, get in most of my Water and Protein every day. I am working on increasing my calorie intake because I know I am not eating enough. I just wanted to see if anyone else is struggling like this. Thank you.

My surgery weight was 236 and my surgeon's goal for me was 165. So only 71 pounds. So far, I am down 55 pounds in seven months.

i haven't seen you around for awhile :(

glad you are back :)

It took me one year to get to goal (-105 lbs)

i'm sure you already know that we all lose weight in different time periods

never compare yourself to someone else weight loss/time period etc

weight seems to come off a little quicker after WLS if you have more weight to loose (high BMI)

in the same respect weight might come off slower if you have a lower BMI (less weight to loose)

your excess weight will come off :)

in its own sweet time

"God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It" ;)

59 lbs down!!!

that's wonderful :)

continue to improve your Water & Protein intake :)

work on getting a good/normal amount of necessary calories

good luck

kathy

congrats

I'm on my 8th month, and have lost 63. My surgery was August 22nd, so I was hoping to hit goal by my year, but not sure if it's going to happen. At this point, I have good months and bad (as far as losing). I did well last month, losing 6lbs, but this month is looking like it may be a bust, as I seem to be holding steady in April so far. I'm wanting to lose 85lbs in total.

My goal was 90. I'm down 52 lbs at about 4 1/2 months out but I've been stalled for the better part of March. 38 lbs to go.

My surgery date is June 5th and I only have 76# to lose. I'm worried that it will come off much slower too. I'm glad you started this thread!!! i was wondering in the "under #100" club would have a different experience.

I started at 238 and had a goal loss of 88#. I lost 22 before surgery, so I only had to lose 66 postop. I did that in just over 7 months, and then dropped another 10 pounds. Protein, Water, veggies and Vitamins. Repeat. I didn't weigh often enough to even notice most stalls, other than the month long ones. And upping my calories is what broke the early stalls. Calorie wise I was around 1000 at 4 months and 1200 by six months. I've been in maintenance now for over 6 months and it's definitely a never ending vigil. Not as hard as I thought, but you really need to maintain healthy habits....

My "high" goal weight is 180, so it's not quite 100 pounds. I'd take 170 though :)

I was worried last year that this surgery might not be for me and I cancelled the process. But this year I am very interested in getting the surgery but would like to hear from others who had 70 lbs. or less weight to lose - this includes the weight that will be lost pre-surgery. Please share your experience with me.

My goal is 75 pounds. I'm just 2.5 months post-op and am only down 22 pounds. I expected it to come off slower since mine was a band to sleeve revision and had less than 100 to lose

Out of curiosity, why are you "worried" about losing weight slowly? When I first had the surgery, I too felt the urgency to lose the weight fast, but when I realized I was going to be a slow loser, I reexamined my thought process. I realized that sense of urgency came from my old diet mentality. In the past, on diets, I always wanted to lose weight quickly so I would be "done". But, I'll never be "done" with my sleeve. It's for life! So it doesn't matter how long it takes me to lose the weight as long as I am losing and not gaining. Ten years from now, when I am enjoying my happy, healthy, full life thanks to my sleeve, do you think I'm really going to care whether it took 6 months or 16 months to reach my goal weight?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
