Recommended Posts

Hello...I'm 2 yrs post gastric bypass and 5 months pregnant and have been having some bad upper abdominal pain that starts right under the center if my breasts and radiates on both sides...I've been to ER twice and both times they found nothing ....the last time he gave me Maalox and said possible Gerd or ulcer ....I have an appt with ob tomorrow. ..I mentioned it at my last appt because it had happened one time prior and she said everything looked good not to worry but now it's happened at least 7 times and it gets bad but then goes away ...any ideas???

Hello:

Have you had your gallbladder checked? I hope whatever it is that it goes away. Please let us know what the doctor says.

Good luck!

Sue

I am not pregnant but have had those terrible pains as well. It's gas. Gas some how makes it back up to your pouch but for some reason gets stuck. For me I could drink but the pain was still there. So what I have realized is that the more you move around the less often it happens. Both times it happened to me I had been sitting a lot that day. Alot of the foods we eat after surgery ate Protein and with protein comes gas... I use the strip that dissolve in you mouth, and drink Water with them. Maalox works the fastest for relief, and the chewable tablets are good to eat after you know you've eaten something that had a lot of protein in it, mainly dairy based. Hope this was helpful. :)

I have seen people as early as 1 month out after surgery and preg and ok preg but sometimes it could just be too early to see if your looking for baby you need to see the yolk and sac first

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
