Pain in abdomen when drinking/eating

Recommended Posts

11 days out. Feeling awesome but the last few days I've noticed that at times after I drink or eat that I get a sharp pain in my ab to the right side of my bellow button. It happens when I feel the liquid move down there. I don't feel the pain otherwise. I called the surgeon on call and he suggested it was due to taking too large of sips/bites. Wanted to see if anyone has had this?

I am 12 days out and have felt a similar pain. Mine goes away pretty quickly. I have noticed it happens most frequently if its been a long time since I have had something. I don't know if its normal or not, but I know that mine is not happening as often as it was. I am doing better at smaller sips.

Same here, 4 months out and when I go too long without (especially) Water or food, then I feel it. I think the tummy contracts while empty, then the slam of the Water or food nails it. Be gentle on it, drink tepid water to start, or soft food for the first couple of bites to help "prime" the stomach for what's to come. Good luck and a Blessed Easter to you!

Thanks! Glad to know I'm not alone. I took some liquid tonight in a sippy cup a friend gave me which obviously gives much smaller sips and what do you know! No pain! Yay!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
