Besides my best effort to educated my mum, a women who is intelligent i have failed. For the last two weeks my mum wanted to have a chat. My mum lives across the pond, and i live in the States. Time difference , work and just life in general keeps be from chatting often to my mum...Yesterday we finally had the chance since i was off...My older sister simply refuse to tell me what the chat was about.Yesterday on my Daily walk it started like this"You a too skinny what are you doing to your self..Why are u always walking or at the gym'..."folks will laugh after you  you are so small" now keep in mind am 5'8' 185 lbs normally am 235 and up. I just lost it yelling at the top of my lungs i gave my mum the list of illnesses i've has...Sleep Apena , Diabetes, High blood pressure and with drugs i never , never had a low blood sugar reading. Except and only when my sugar levels dropped. I am healthier ,my self esteem which was always high is off the meter. :D ..I fit in to smaller sizes and i feel great...How about u look great just be careful,is this too much to asked?..Everyone i feel likes a fat chick especially when you are the fattest one in the family...Inherited genes from my mums mother... ;-) .. i knew this day was coming my PCP told me this a few weeks ago..This week a mate passed me on the street :D my face gave me away..You are soo skinny she said keep it up!!!!..I went to my in laws house and am walking into her house and she did not know it was me..Here comes the advise (not wanted and i said as much) don't loose any more weight did i asked for your advise. I know the gossip milll was rampant when i left last night...If i had to do this all over again i would in a nano sec...But i won't do this again am moving onwards and am not looking back!!!!

???????????????????????????? Bravo and I love your attitude. I'm expecting the same from my family when I get there. I just had my surgery on 3/25 and I didn't tell anyone but a few close friends.

You are doing this for you! Don't worry what anybody else thinks! They are used to the "old" you and people hate change.

The most rewarding experience I have had since my surgery is when I saw my nutritionist at my 4 month check up. I went to his office to check in, when he came out to get me he did not recognize me.

Pepper, you're not alone. I've been in the same boat with my mom for most of my life. She has never understood how difficult it has been for me to manage my weight and has in the past sabotaged my attempts at losing weight --- and she is a medical professional. One thing I've learned is that family doesn't have to be your support system and cheering squad. Friends can play that role too, and sometimes, they're even better at it. Do what you need to do to keep yourself healthy. Good luck with your journey, it seems like you're doing fantastic so far!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
