I'm 1 week post-op today. I feel like I should be feeling better than I am. I got on my treadmill today to walk 30 minutes. It was a very slow (2 mi/hr) walk and I was only able to last 10 minutes. Now I'm exhausted and my back hurts like I've been working out crazy hard. I feel like a slow 30 minute walk should be no big deal, but now I need a nap! Am I expecting too much, or should I be pushing myself harder?

You are being too hard on yourself... I was in the hospital last week for 4 days 3 nights when most are out after 1 night! But it is AMAZING how much better I feel now just a few days later. Don't push yourself past what you feel you can do (dont want to rip stitches!) and just feel it out day by day. Just getting on the treadmill is great a week after surgery. You will be able to do a little more each day! You got this :)

PS I am one week out as well

Your body already told you the answer. Give yourself time to heal.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
