Rapid weight loss and wrinkles

Recommended Posts

This is probably a good question for the lady veterans out there. Call me vain if you must but I am really worried about what losing a lot of weight over a short time will do to my face. You know every big girl has heard it, what a pretty face, well I don't want to suddenly be smaller with a wrinkled or sagging face? Any tips or products that you could suggest would be greatly appreciated . Thanks Ladies!

If your face was well taken care of before hand you should be ok. Something to think about is your age, as you get older your skin loses its ability to "bounce" back. Your neck is more likely to have lose skin if you had a lot of weight in that area. If you had existing sun damage or were a smoker it might be noticeable. But really people tell us we have a pretty face when we're heavy to make us feel better a majority of the time. So just take care of your skin like you always have and work on getting healthy.

So far, I've lost about 120 and my face has held up really well. No added wrinkles, no sagging or drooping.

I have worried about this too. I've always been lucky to have good skin and at 52 have no wrinkles yet. But I'm afraid that is going to change after WLS. On the one hand, maybe I won't have the extra chubby cheeks pulling my face downward, but I do expect to see some sagging. I never thought I'd ever want plastic surgery and I am generally not vain overall. I am really doing this for my health and to be more active. But I've decided that if I'm very unhappy with my skin after losing the weight I will look into some very minimal plastics, probably more likely the tummy overpouch than face but who knows?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
