My surgery is on Wednesday so I figured I'd ask in the post op section. I have to stay 2 nights, and I was just wondering if anyone ended up having to stay longer than they thought? And any reasons you'd have to stay longer? Thanks!

@jrquinter hi I was in hospital for 5 days / 4 nights. Reason is because my body kind of shut down on me, wouldn't allow anything other than Water go down and even then it was a major struggle. I wasn't too worried as I knew I was being well taken care ofAll started to get better on day 4, Ihad the Barium Swallow to ensure everything was ok. It hurt drinking that horrid stuff  but you do what you have to do to ensure that the medical team that are taking care of you are doing just that.

Nope mine was two days, the only way you would need to stay longer is if you had a complication(fingers crossed you won't)

I stayed 3 days due to a slight fever.

I was in for just one night, I was scheduled in for 2 but I didn't need it as I was up and walking around. You will be fine and take your time if you feel you need longer then speak to those looking after you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
