How long recovery from the removal?

Recommended Posts

I am doing a 2 step revision. How long and how painful is the removal? Will presenting at a conference one week later be possible? Thanks!

Each of us has a different recovery rate, so you may or may not be up to presenting a week later.

I've read on previous posts that for just the removal recovery was pretty quick. I had a revision in 1 surgery. My recovery was VERY quick. I felt fine by day 2 but took 2 weeks off from work because the surgeon recommended it. I really could have gone back after a week. My boss was prepared to have me work 1/2 days if needed when I returned but I was fine

Every patient and every surgeon is different. I had a band, revision of band, band removal and finally the sleeve. Not trying to make u nervous but I had the most pain after removal. The surgeon said it's is because of a large amount of scar tissue that forms around the band and port that needs to be removed. I did go back to work after 3 days but still had pain for a week or two.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
