Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for the 25th next week and curious if anyone else is in Dallas? I'm using Barker Bariatric! Day 1 of liquid diet and it's actually been ok.

I'm 4 days post of with the bypass. I'm going to be honest, IT'S ROUGH. The day of surgery I felt like I was going to die with gas pains. I've had 3 c sections and hysterectomy and nothing compares. HOWEVER, days 3 & 4 are better. Day 2 was a little better but day 3 I was able to watch my little guy play baseball. It's worth it, just please understand it's rough at first lol. I was reading things that sugar coated it and wasn't expecting the day of. Plus side is I was medicated and slept a lot while in hospital. I'm ready for some regular food that's for sure lol

Ugh I totally agree with you. I seen so many posts that was like "this was a walk in the park" etc etc..

For me, the first five days were horrible but then every day after that just got better & better . Thank god lol

@@valkyrie88 I completely agree with you. I'm day 4 out and still miserable. Can't get all my Protein in or fluids. I'm exhausted. And the coughing is the worst!

The pain is pretty intense standing up. I thought the nurses were crazy asking me to walk the same day. I got in trouble for not getting up enough but thankfully I went home the next day lol. I'm not exhausted but tired of Water and forget Protein. I'm not going to lie, today my family was having hamburgers and I took a tiny piece, chewed it up and spit out just for the taste lol. Didn't help much lol. We've got this...I'm losing 1.4ish daily so far so that gives me hope. Just took pain meds and back to bed. I've been sitting in the recliner today and walking around my house some. Just taking it easy.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
