So I am super excited that my surgery is tomorrow!!! I went to church this morning, took a nap when I got hime (trying to pass the time away) and I'm going to church tonight so when I get home it will be time to go to bed, if I can sleep. I have a 5 year old daughter that will be staying with my sister while I'm gone. She understands that I'm having surgery to lose weight. I've tried to let her know I will be gone 3 days.

But on to my nerves. I'm getting a little nervous. I got all my cleaning and laundry done so I won't have to worry about that. I laying out my daughters clothes for my sister so she won't have to worry about that. And my mom is going with me, which makes me feel a little better.

I leave here in the morning at 6 am cause it takes about 3 hours to get to where I am having surgery, charlotte, nc. I have to be there at 9 for them to get me ready, and my surgery is scheduled for 11am. Doc said it would take about an hour and a half. I'm so nervous as to how I'm going to feel when I wake up tomorrow!!!! I hope it doesn't hurt too bad.

But what about you other guys that are having surgery tomorrow?? Are yall as nervous and ready as I am?? YAY!!!!! this is it!! The rest of my life is depending on my success. Can't wait to start this new journey and path in my life!!!!

I remember being as excited as you are describing, honestly the thing that is the most painful is the gas they pump in your tummy. Just walk a lot and sip your fluids. You will do great.

The first hour after I woke up I was a little uncomfortable but they were quick to get my pain under control. The first night can be a little rough in terms of getting rest. Again, the gas from your tummy. My nurses brought me lots of hot packs for my tummy and that really helped.

Also I found getting out of the bed and sitting in a chair was definately more comfortable. Walk as much as you can and the gas will be gone before you know it.

I wish you a very speedy recovery and a very healthy future!

I am also in the home stretch. We have to be at the hospital at 6am tomorrow. Thankfully our drive is only 45 minutes. I can't imagine 3 hours! Good luck to you and I'm glad we can recover together!

Hope all went well for you today. Mine is tomorrow at 7:30, about 30 minutes away. My only pre-op was Clear Liquids today and whole bottle of Magnesium Citrate at 5:00 pm. I'm a little scared of that, seems like an awful lot so late in the day. Oh well.

That does seem like a lot of mag so late. U might be on the potty all night. The pain isn't that bad so far. I've got my morphine and doing actually well. I'm pleasently surprised!!! I'm ready to get up and get moving. My throat isn't that sore my incisions aren't that sore, just a little sore on the inside a bit. I am only allowed a medicine cup of ice and hour and I'm tolerating that really well. I'm so happy!!! It's time for my new life now. Thank God for protecting me during surgery and also afterwards with minimal pain. Hope you guys are doing great!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
