Time Frame ? How long did it take you to get scheduled please ?

Recommended Posts

So until this am I have been completing reqs for 7+ months for someone other person's policy even though I have from them 7 times in writing that my plan covered gastric sleeve. Anyway after the shock has warn off I have spent the day reading all your great post. I am still doing research but after looking at forums on 3 sites an getting stats I am leaning towards Cordova or Ortiz. My question is scheduling, because I have spent 7 months on this I cleared time and can have coverage at work as long as I have my surgery by early May, Is that do-able or wishful thinking ?

I really can't tell you how much I appreciate this forum and the time you all take to post. I could have never learned this much this quickly on my own.

Thanks

I had Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. I met their pre-qualification for WLS, being diagnosed with sleep Apnea a few years earlier. So I was not required to do a 6 month doctor supervised diet or meet any other qualifications.

I made my 1st doc appointment on Dec. 7th, 2012 and was sleeved and released from the hospital on Dec. 28th, 2012. I was done in less than 30 days.

So it is possible, but it takes quite a bit of creative scheduling to complete all the pre-op tests, blood work, EDG, NUT visits and the psychological evaluation.

I did a 3 month supervised diet, got approved a week after being submitted and and surgery 3 weeks after that. I had some school ends to Finnish up that took a week and then 2 week pre-op diet before surgery.

You shouldn't have any problems scheduling a May surgery date in Mexico. If you have a specific date(s) in mind, your doctor's coordinator will be able to tell you quickly if that day(s) is available.

Best wishes!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
