I asked my doctor's nurse over the phone what were some softs to eat and try....

She told me really mashed up fish, chicken blended up, eggs, mash potatoes, and boudin.

Now I used a Louisiana Dr......so that may be why lol.

Anyone tried Boudin at the 3 week mark? just wandering if this would absolutely tear my stomach up or not?

I'm no expert...I have been told Rice is not very sleeve friendly. It expands. Anyone else get this as an instruction? Rice is an ingredient used to make boudin. I started adding carbohydrates after I lost 75% of my weight. I can tolerate brown rice at 9 months out.

At 3 weeks, I was still eating Cream of Mushroom Soup. Frankensleeve was still too tender for spicy or difficult to digest foods. And boudin qualifies as both! :P

If you are going to try boudin, use my tried and true Frankensleeve taste test.

Eat a bite, about 1/2 teaspoon size. Wait 5 minutes

Eat a 2nd bite, about 1/2 teaspoon size. Wait 5 minutes.

If after that time, Frankensleeve had not had a bad reaction, it was safe for me to eat.

Keep on making those small steps in the right direction. Add good habits to your day, and you'll save time, lose inches, and dramatically boost your energy.

Stay Strong and Keep Pushing On.

Louisiana girl here! Saved boudin until month 8 I was scared of the rice swelling. Glad I did wait! not for the swelling but because it's spicy and hard to eat and not drink with it. I suggest waiting awhile.

I'm from Louisiana as well! No boudin for me! The rice is the reason why! For Mardi Gras, no King's Cake either. :( Gumbo minus the rice hurt my stomach and made me sick for days! I guess it was the flour roux. Don't really know. And I'll be 6 months out on April 15. :) good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
