I am scheduled for surgery on March 19th. I'm so excited. But a little worried. I work in health care and anyone who does knows getting a week off work is a miracle. With that said March 19th is my last chance to get it or I will have to do all the insurance stuff...again. So here is my question. How long did it take for you to receive an OK by insurance? Also, my Drs nurse told me Blue Cross/Blue Shield has only 14 days to say yes/no. Anybody else been told that? Also its been a week, my physician has heard anything. Do you think I should call my insurance company? Thanks so much for reading and posting. Hopefully someone has been in this situation. Thanks again.

Yes...call, just to make sure they received the file and everything necessary. I was waiting, waiting, waiting....turned out they were missing (or lost) notes from one of my visits and were going to make me do more visits with my doctor because they claim I didn't have 3 consecutive months(I did). My insurance coordinator called them, faxed them what they needed and I was approved immediately.

Put your mind at ease and give them a call.

Call to make sure they received it. There's been plenty of times where my job has faxed something been given a document number and when we follow up they say they never got it

Can't hurt to call.

I have been waiting for what feels like forever for an answer (Real-time is about 10 days.). I finally called BCBS late in the day yesterday. It had just been approved. The letter to my doctor had not even been generated yet. I still don't have my date but at least I know it was approved. I am so glad I called. I really didn't want to sit through another weekend worrying.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
