Hi all,

I'm 3 weeks away from my surgery (March 26) and would like some advice from those who have been there.

I currently live at home (always have) and have been looking to move out after my surgery. I just found the perfect place, however the move in date is May 1st (about 5 weeks post op). I understand that I probably won't be able to do any of the lifting involved but I'm wondering more about from a mental standpoint if a change like this could be too much.

What sort of changes and experiences were people having 1-3 months post-op? In your experience would making a big life change like this have been disruptive to your healing and learning process?

Thank you so much in advance to anyone willing or able to share their experience with me, while I'm excited about (both of) these opportunities I don't want to jeopardize either :)

Honestly other than changes in my diet, I really was doing pretty great by this point. You will just have to care of yourself to make sure you get your fluids and Protein in, it is sometimes hard to do that when your focus is elsewhere but I am sure you will have no problem.

The other thing you might experience is fatigue. I just remember getting pretty tired in the afternoons. I actually went on a vacation for 10 days to Las Vegas at 6 weeks. As you know Vegas can be very active and I found myself having more energy after I really got moving.

You might actually find the extra activity really helps you.

Good luck!

Mentally I think a move into your own place would be great, what a wonderful way to start your new chapter of your life, good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
