6 weeks post op and wondering when everyone was able to eat more than an ounce w/o feeling stuffed. I have no hunger at all and force myself to eat but can't get in more than an ounce. I make sure not to drink anything at least 30 mins before I eat, while I eat or 30 mins. after and don't snack between meals. Not too concerned at this point, just curious. Thanks!

how fast are you eating and how much are you chewing. these are huge parts of your new eating habits, chew chew chew, like youre a train, ;-) and be sure to eat slower, eating fast will make it seem like you are full, but its because you are jamming the sleeve up , there are apps to help you time your bites, i recommend them.

Thanks for your response. I make my two ounces last 30 minutes and chew until my food is applesauce consistency. I use baby spoons to make sure I take small bites. I'm just curious as to when others were able to start eating more than two ounces and if the hunger ever comes back.

I was about the same at 6 weeks... I am almost 6 months out now and still only eat very small amounts. But I snack on almonds and cheese a few times a day. I am never hungry but if I don't eat enough I feel worn out and weak.

I'm about 8 months post op and I struggle to this day about how long it takes me to eat. Each meal take about 20 minutes tops for me to eat. I've never been able to stretch it to 30 minutes.

I think around the 3 month mark I started eating a consistent amount. My meals usually include about 3 oz. of Protein and about 1/4 cup of either green Beans, cottage cheese, edamame, or something else. I'll also add a bit of cheese to this as well. My biggest problem now is not getting enough calories.

What are these apps? This sounds like a great idea!

I was able to eat about 2-2.5 ounces of Protein at a a time after about a month, but men's sleeves are generally a smidge big than women's. It also depended on the protein type. chicken seemed to fill me up less quickly than turkey. Within 3 months I could comfortably eat 3-3.5 oz. Now at about 7 months out I can eat 4-5 oz comfortably.

2oz is about my max and at a month out, I guess that's kinda normal. Not to say that yours isn't. There are different sized sleeves and everyone is different in how they loose!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
